Cookiebite.netis proud to announce the development of some truly exciting functionality, in a unique bespoke project for Upgrade2 - the post reservation international specialist firm and long standing customer of Cookiebite. We have now delivered a new tool that permits UP2 to deliver low-cost and incredibly easy-to-implement contactless check-in for their client hotels (irrespectively of what technology is found hotel-side).

"I believe this is an industry first” said Kostantinos Damianakis, our Chief Solutions advisor. "The solution we found to resolve the not-so-easy requirements from UP2, is designed to allow for a very simple answer to a contactless check in at hotels. From the very beginning we knew it should be something that can be implemented for any hotel, irrespectively of the systems they have in place. Our answer was to develop something that can fit into existing ecosystems, but also with the lowest complexity and capability hoteliers catered for. We know it should work even with no additional interfaces in place, and UP2 was the naturally elegant solution for this. By empowering hoteliers through UP2 we ensured our product can be very competitively priced and at the same time entirely complexity-free for the hotelier and their day to day operations.”

Describing the solution, the CEO of Upgrade2 Mr. Vladimir Martinov, said 

…this is what UP2 was always meant to be. A post-reservation platform designed to make everything easier. Hoteliers are now able to fully automate a process where they highlight their covid-safe approach to their guests, asking them to pre-check in directly on their device. We then take all the necessary registration information and hand it over to the hotelier (or their systems) enabling them to check in the guest before their arrival (a little like what airlines allow you to do through their apps). From there, depending on what the hotelier wants to do, either a mobile phone key can be issued, or simply the guest gets to pick up their sanitised key really quickly, virtually spending no time at reception.” 

 

So how does it work?

The implementation of this solution is at the core of the solution discussions. By utilising the uniquely positioned UP2 solution from Upgrade Two Ltd, to listen for all transactions that take place and then produce a unique pre-check in e-mail. From there the guest fills in their pre-registration card, and either receive a wireless key on their mobile phone (if the hotel technology supports this option) or we simply notify the PMS and reception of the arrival, so a key can be prepared (and sanitised) before being placed in a covid save envelope. This way hoteliers can allow for very quick flow of guests at the reception, minimising the changes of guest-to-guest transmission as well.
